Ben Balmforth
Senior Associate
Ben joined the NATO Innovation Fund in January 2024 as a Senior Associate and, whilst fascinated by nearly all technology, he has a particular interest in quantum, semiconductors, photonics, and AI. He is based in London and, in addition to Western Europe, covers the ecosystems in Bulgaria, Poland, and Türkiye.
Previously, Ben was an Investment Manager at XTX Ventures, the venture arm of XTX Markets, prior to which he spent four years with Amadeus Capital Partners – one of Europe’s leading deep tech venture capital firms. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a MSci in Mathematics and Physics from Durham University. When he finds the time, Ben likes swimming, hiking, skiing, sci-fi movies, and a good bottle of red.
